Secure by design
Security is built into the architecture of Private 5G. Only authorised devices can connect to the network, using SIM or eSIM authentication rather than shared passwords. Traffic is isolated, encrypted and never exposed to public users unless explicitly configured to do so.
Because the network is private, there are no standard data tariffs, billing systems or usage charges to manage.
Where Private 5G is typically used
Private 5G is most effective when deployed for applications that require consistent, predictable connectivity, including:
- Operational and industrial systems
- Sensors, cameras and monitoring equipment
- Robotics and automation
- Mobile and autonomous assets
- Public safety and security use cases
- Temporary, remote or hard to reach locations
It is commonly deployed across manufacturing, logistics, energy, agriculture, construction, ports, utilities, campuses and emergency services.
A practical approach to deployment
Private 5G is not a consumer technology, and it is not plug-and-play.
Device compatibility depends on manufacturers and supported bands, and careful planning is required to ensure coverage, performance and security align with operational needs. Successful deployments rely on experienced system design, integration and ongoing support.
This is where TrellisWorks plays a key role.
