Role Overview
TrellisWorks is a growing connectivity business seeking a highly motivated Internal Sales Executive to support our external sales teams by generating high-quality, qualified leads within the connectivity and telecommunications solutions market.
Working on some of the UK’s largest construction, transport and critical infrastructure projects our engineers are at the forefront of creating technology solutions that keep people connected. From wireless solutions to power major construction sites to ship to shore WiFI for busy ferry links or integrated CCTV to protect large venues and critical infrastructure, we make sure when you pick up your phone, laptop or tech that it works.
We are looking for someone to support the team and help with early-stage customer engagement. The role is a key part of the sales engine, focusing on outbound prospecting and marketing campaign follow-up. The position offers significant development opportunities, including the ability to build and manage customer accounts over time, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career in technology sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate qualified sales leads for the external sales team through outbound cold calling, email outreach, and follow-up activity
- Engage with prospective customers to understand their business requirements and identify opportunities for connectivity and telecommunications solutions
- Qualify leads against agreed criteria before passing them to the external sales team
- Follow up on inbound leads generated by marketing campaigns, events, and digital activity
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activity within the CRM system
- Work closely with the Sales Director, external sales team, and marketing colleagues to optimise campaign effectiveness and lead quality
- Meet and exceed agreed KPIs relating to activity levels, lead quality, and sales opportunities generated
- Gradually develop and manage personal customer accounts as experience, performance, and business needs allow
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong communication skills with confidence on the telephone
- Proven ability, or clear aptitude, for outbound cold calling and prospecting
- Resilient, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Professional approach with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Comfortable working in a target-driven sales environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience in technology, connectivity, telecoms, or IT solutions sales
- Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales pipelines
- Understanding of B2B sales processes
